This piece was made as experimenting different medias together few years ago.
There are many views what this image is about. To me it mostly symbols lifespan. But I've heard many different views and I'd like you to tell me what you see in this. Watercolor, black and white ink, some graphite. 9,5" x 6,5" paper. Black and white frames quickly made with computer. I hope you enjoy it! |

I've always been a bit intimidated of watercolors since the uncontrolled element (water) and this one here is one of the only couple I've ever done. I think I made this in 2003.
Since that I haven't done any I guess.
Maybe I should try some of it again...

I think I'm gonna dig up some watercolor soon in the near-future since it's been a long time since this piece.

The colours are beautiful, but what I really like is how well you blended the colours. When working with water you often end up with things separated or mixed completely together. But you've managed to slowly merge them, it's great.
The only part I don't like is the very bottom, with the black lines going down. I think they're too runny and blobby. You'd be a lot better off doing sharp strokes, so they don't get too much water in them causing them to expand.
Overall though, I love it.
Maybe it would look better with sharp lining in the bottom who knows!
